John Newman started his hairdressing career in 1972. John’s father, Derek, was a barber as was his father, Ted, before him, who started a hair salon in Rothwell in 1922. John is now the third generation of hairdressers in Rothwell and has built up an enviable reputation for service, quality and staff training.
John has been recognised for his training excellence by being awarded ‘Employer of the Year 2006’ for both Northamptonshire and the East Midlands by the Learning Skills Council.

We are well known in the area for our colour correction results and our expertise in this field is well recognised and John has even recently attended colour specialist courses and next year embarks on the most prestigious award of all ‘The Specialist Colour Degree' course with L’Oreal Technical Centre in London. Only a handful of hairdressers in the Country have attained this level of expertise and the level of knowledge even to be accepted on the course is extensive having to pass written and practical examinations.
